At my last
post, I was telling you that I had to share this with my husband. I am very
lucky girl, he is very supportive. He said that if it is what you want I will
be there for you. I knew about it but I wanted to hear from him.:)
So he and my
daughter, we went to the doctor next morning. Our appointment was at 9am, but
we were at the hospital at 8:20. I could not sleep at night. Even I am a big
morning sleeper, I was up that morning very early.
First of all doctor
(prof) was very nice and kind. We took our daughter. She was very curious cat
and tried to look into all the closed things (windows boxesJ)
He took some
information about me and told me that he does not do lap band. He is only doing
gastric sleeve for last 2,5 years. Than it came to the point he asked about my
diet. What I eat. I am a big carb eater. I love bread, pizza, pasta etc. then
his second bomb came. “If you don’t quit this eating habit, this operation will
not work for you. So you better forget them. Also you need to think about what
you want, what you can do.”
I knew that I
should not eat them after operation but hearing from him was harsh. Than third
bomb came; “I don’t do operations to everyone. I need you to do 2-3 weeks diet,
than we will discuss what we can do. I need to see what you will be done” this
was a shock to me because, I did not read any pre operation diet at Turkish
forums and my friend did not mentioned it. I was more likely thinking that I
would have the test done that week and have the operation next week.
While I was surprised,
I listen my pre operation diet little bit mistakenly.
My diet rule
are, no bread, nothing from flour. Only protein. No egg yolk. Only white part. Salad
and veggies.
Actually dieting
is not the hard part, most difficult part is liquid intake. As a diet, I should
stop taking in any liquids 30 minutes before meal. And no liquid till 90minues
later. It is more like no liquid for 120-140minutes. No soup, no water at the
meal.
The funny
part it I have understood these 30 minutes as 2hour. So I had 4,5 hour no
liquid for 3-4 days. When I realize that there is something wrong at this, I
have message the doctor from facebook about it. I am sure he has laughed a lot,
but he corrected meJ
it seems like I was living my disappointment while he was telling my diet.
Now I am in
better shape with liquid thing. The reason of no liquid is, liquid soften the
food in stomach, and it leave the stomach faster. so you start to get hungry
more quickly. Worst part of this liquid diet, I am missing soup which I was
having every lunch. Best part is I don’t have several meals; I only have 2-3
meals. Funny part is, I don’t get hungry if I don’t eat any carbs. If I have
some during the day, than I am crazy after 4-5pm.
So far, I
started the dieting the day I went to the doctor. I had weighted (143,8kg=316lb)
that morning and I did not have breakfast. I did really good that day till at
night. At night I had a huge carb-crise. So that day was not my best, next
morning I was weighted 144,8kg) that moment, I told myself, I should stop doing
this myself, I should be respecting my body. I have been doing great since Wednesday.(way
better after the pre-meal timing correction)
Today is 13th.
7th day. My weight is 140,8kg. So I have lost 3kg/6,5lb. There is no
change at my body look, but I know that my stomach get smaller. When I look
down, I only saw my breast and tummy. It was before only breast and stomach. I am
apple shape person. Even I lose a lot of weight, difference on my hip; is
smaller than any apple shape person lose weight.
